All about investing in Gold

January 19th, 2008 Precious metals and stones

Here’s a good place to learn about Gold investing. Follow the links mentioned in Wikipedia. Gold as they say is very stable form of investment. If you look at last 200 years, you can still buy the same amount of goods with an Oz of Gold that you could buy at the beginning of 19th century i.e. year 1800. That coupled with the fact that gold has time proven great investment in recessions and periods of low economic growth, puts gold at the top of my safe and steady investment types.

Confusing outcome with strategy

October 27th, 2007 Investment & Savings

People confused between strategy and outcome. IMO A basic lesson every investor should learn. Either a strategy is correct or not before we know the fact is difficult.  If a investor would have known earlier, he would have invested his/her entire investment in real estate in India rather than having a diversified portfolio. Now you know the outcome (i.e. past performance) what would be the strategy?

It is like selecting Indian cricket team entirely based upon T20 performance which is totally different asset class as compare to ODI and test match :).
